Recently I bought maany DVDs from the near by record store.
I've always been an old fashioned girl, I love old style movies and old style stars, such as Yul Brynner, Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman , etc.
A friend of mine once told me about Humphrey Bogart, saying he's a brilliant actor of all time. I think it's a very good timing to appreciate him, because I bought film "Casablanca" , too.
Casablanca is city in Monacco, North Africa. During the WWRII, many People fled from Nazi concentration camp, and wished to get a transit letter or an exit visa to Lisban, where many planes flew to America, the land of freedom.
The story began in such situation.
Rick Blaine(Humphrey Bogart) is an american who lives in Casablanca, where he opens a café. And he is also a celebrity there, even the captain Louis Renalt is a good friend of his.
Nazi major Strasser comes to Casablanca to capture Victor Laszlo, who is the leader of an underground campaign against Nazi. Captain Renalt tried to please Major Strasser, but Laszlo knew only Rick can help him to escape to Lisban.
Ricky found out the wife of Lazslo was his ex girlfriend in Paris, and he now is moody, doesn't know what to do.
After Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman, Lazslo's wife) explained to Rick, he decided to help them.

In this film, Humphrey Bogart was really something, no wonder he was nomiated the best actor in 1943, but unfortunately, he didn't win the award ( he recieved it by film "The African Queen" couple of years later).
He played Ricky Blaine in a very good way, especially when he was talking with Ilsa privately, saying
"He's looking at you, kid!"
