The other day I attend a BBQ party which was hold by some foreigners. Amount these people, there are 3 couples, an english man married a taiwanese girl, they have a cute little boy, the second couple are a canadian woman with a phillipine, oh how they love eachother!
The third couple are Craig and Nick. Before I attend the party, I just finished watching a movie named " Capote, In Cold Blood", Yes, you are right, it's that " Truman Capote".
And what a coinsedence that Craig chatted with me that night, most of the topics are about homosexual, lesbian and art.
He asked me if I am afraid of gay people, I said no, because I have some gay friends. The he started asking me why many taiwaneses are afraid of gay people?
This suddently reminds me of one thing.
Not far from where I live, there is a store which sells tea. The shopkeeper is a good-looking guy, and he dresses himself well. One day I passed by the store with a friend of mine. I told my friend, " You see that guy standing in the store? He is probably gay, because he dresses so well, normally straight guys don't dress well, or they don't know how."
And my friend reacted seriously, she said " How can you say that boy is gay? It's not nice!"
I said, " Why? It doesn't mean anything."
Anyway, my friend thinks I don't like that boy so I said he is gay.
In this case, I told Craig, many people in Taiwan still think being gay isn't the correct behavior one should have.
Then he said, there are about 20-30% people are gay, just they don't tell others. Some are even bisexual.

Through the conversation between me and Craig, I start thinking, why, is this society sick or something?
Or is it just so conservative that we think being gay is against everything?
